Sainsbury's Antibacterial Handwash, Original 250ml
I bought this handwash at first without even realising it is BUAV certified (happy bunny when I found out!). I have all three of the above handwashes in my flat, but there are a few more to choose from, with refill options and they come in various sizes. Click here for some more options!

I have one in each of my bathrooms and one in my kitchen. They last for ages and are quite cheap at £0.83 for one 250ml size. There are usually offers on and right now you can buy two for £1.20! Ideal! All Sainsbury's handwash range are BUAV certified and if you are not sure, check the back of the bottle and there should be a hopping bunny logo:
All three handwashes that I have used have a fresh, clean smell and easy-to-use, no-mess pump. I use a pea-size amount with water and that amount is enough to leave your hands clean and soft. I have sensitive skin on my hands and have never experienced any problems using these products. The soap is foamy and does not feel oily or sticky on your skin. It rinses off easily and is perfect for cleaning up after pets, food or
at the toilet.

These products are also paraben free. I had never really heard of this compound, which is used extensively in cosmetics, toothpastes, shampoos, moisturisers etc. They are used as preservatives and are low in cost, which is why they are found throughout a wide selection of products and in some foods. The use of parabens, however, is now a subject of controversy as traces of this compound have been found in breast cancer tumours and also due to its ability to mimic the hormone estrogen. Estrogen, which is synthesised in vertebrates and some insects, is a natural occurring hormone, but as 80% of breast cancers rely on estrogen to grow once they are established, it could be a contributing factor to increasing occurrences of breast cancer discovered in women. It may also explain the increasing prevalence of early puberty in girls. So, in conclusion, I don't think I'll be crying over the fact that these handwashes are paraben free!

There is not much you can say about handwash - it does the job! Keeps the germs at bay, smells lovely, keeps your hands soft and comes in a variety of colours so you can accessorise any bathroom or kitchen! We all use a lot of handwash, so why not choose a brand that is not responsible for cruel, painful experiments carried out on mice, rats, rabbits, guinea-pigs, cats and dogs! Buy the peaceful solution and wash your hands of germs and guilt!
